Brighton Rat Race

Race for Charity

Take part in the most exciting thing to hit Brighton since The Great Storm in 1987, and raise money for a great charity at the same time! While we aim to uproot fewer trees and destroy not-quite-so-many houses, TCT teams will be tearing-up the streets of Brighton in her inaugural RatRace event.

Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT), a UK wide organisation supporting teenagers with cancer, has joined up with Rat Race for the very first time. TCT funds specialist teenage units in NHS hospitals, providing an environment where teenagers can get on with being teenagers, and which we hope will improve survival rates and ensure a better future for patients and their families. There are currently 8 units – at least another 14 are needed to reach every single young person with cancer in the UK. This year Teenage Cancer Trust is working with Rat Race in Brighton, Newcastle and Edinburgh to raise funds to build new units in these cities. We’re offering great charity packages if you pledge to raise funds for us and, in addition, the charity will have input into the course and provide activities in the event villages. So loosen your purse-strings and expect something a little out of the ordinary!

The TCT package is not to be sniffed at, whether you’re one of the most experienced ratters or are taking to the streets for the first time. We’re offering discounted registration for all three of the TCT partnered races- that’s Edinburgh, Newcastle and Brighton. Save a chunk of cheese on your registration fee- then spend it on a TCT massage after the race, some post-race munch, or grooming products for your whiskers when you get home.

Racing for TCT means that not only do you get a discount on your race entry, you’re able to raise funds and help teenagers and young adults suffering from cancer across the UK.

The TCT package includes:

  • Race Entry
  • Training and preparation advice
  • Race t-shirt
  • Goody bag
  • Entry to the RatRace party
